Snowmen 03:14
We're the ones who have drawers, Full of beanies and scarves and mittens. Late at night in our yards, We build forts, have exchanges of courage. This is more than a season to us. They call us "snowmen". We hate the summer. We beg the clouds to hold their rain, Until it gets colder. We build creatures in our own images. And the angels aren't who we say they are, They're just another way we leave our marks. In desperation. How does the weather change us? First ask the snow to layer the lawn, Then ask politely for it to stay there. Can you call any place a home, If it hasn't been touched by a blizzard, To bring us closer together? They call us "snowmen", In times of winter. We beg the clouds to hold their rain, Until it gets colder. The forecaster's our fortune teller.

Separation 03:15
Made our way past Noyes, The way we always do, except, This time there's snow, This time I'm shaking. She's bundled tight, With mittens up and down my arm, Laughing at the way, I use my logic too much. I separate girls that are friends from lovers. I separate my friends from lovers in my mind. I separate girls that are friends from lovers. I separate my friends from crushes. Made my way inside, And straight into my room, because, When winter leaves, It will leave too soon. I'm bundled tight, With comforters, down slippers on, Laughing at the way, I use loneliness as a crutch.

Reflection 01:34
If this is the pain that I feel, And feeling only comes from truth, I won't count on this to be, Everything that we both want. So lucky for us that we found, Confusion is the only way, To make things last much longer, Than they're intended to keep. (I intend to keep you). The dry air that cooled me last year, Will feel good in the same way. I can't wait to talk this out with you, But will you take me? Will you take me? I intend to keep you. Will you take me?

about

I wrote and demoed songs for this EP over the course of the three weeks leading up to Christmas. I recorded everything, mixed, and mastered it between the hours of 5pm and 8am before I left Urbana, Illinois to return to Naperville, Illinois a few days before Christmas.
