The weather took a turn In the middle of the night The summer heat had long been left behind I've got a pile of unwrapped gifts Lining the passenger seat When I get home I hope she's waiting for me Because things didn't go my way When I was down in Raleigh I never got the tell her the whole story So I'll turn up the radio And I'll censor myself to the slurs in the song But I will sing along As the snow falls past the smokestacks The empty bars and the cars that crash in the night Oh I will try To get to North Riverside But I can't see the skyline lights Through this fucking snow tonight I think that I will see the sun Before I see the one I love And when I try to call she won't pick up I try to wish her "Merry Christmas" I can't say that I blame her when she won't pick up...

Someday 01:10
Someday this will all be over I’ll hop on a plane to come see you Just the thought, it warms my heart It’s keeping me going
3.
Don't give up on Christmas! If I can't see is it my eyes? Or is it my heart swallowing light from every side? If I could see through my first eyes would I still want to give up? Should I give up? Don't give up on me!

about

Our intentional theme this year was short songs, and I daresay we delivered. The unintentional theme that cuts across all songs seems to be "weathering the storm". We hope you'll also recognize our nod to a classic Pogues tune in a few places.

Dave Rokos joined the cast this year for the first time as a songwriter. Kannan returned from last year's brief writing hiatus to pen our second track. And I wrote the final short song.

Brian drummed and handled engineering in Chicago, Bobby drummed and provided additional writing, and Dave H. returned to lend his auspicious voice to tracks 1 and 3. Finally, Alisa joined us for the first time to sing the final lines of "Fairytale".

Merry Christmas from Chicago and Tokyo.

- Chris
