You Broke Christmas
03:21
|
|||
All I really want this year's
to leave my family here and come home to you.
I think you broke Christmas, girl,
because I've had twenty-five before,
this hasn't ever felt true.
Maybe it's the California heat.
Maybe it's the pitter-patter of little feet.
Maybe it's that I can't text you and be discreet.
But this Christmas doesn't feel complete without...
You I know I've gotta stay
at least until Boxing Day.
And all I can say is that I hope that next time.
All I really want this year's
to leave my family here and go home to our cats.
I think you broke Christmas, girl,
because I've had twenty-six before
and I've never ever felt like that.
And maybe I'm dreaming too far ahead,
but I can't wait until our kids are asleep in bed,
because then we can make our family come here.
As long as we're alone by New Year's.
Because you know they'll want to stay,
at least until Boxing Day.
And all I can say is that I know that next time.
I don't want an eight foot Christmas tree.
I don't need the snow.
I don't even mind the rain.
You know that I've never felt this way before,
so I'm not sure I'm doing a good job to explain.
But I think that you broke Christmas.

I'm Wishful
03:42
|
|||
Oh, of course I would think
all this subtlety could inspire all the words I need.
But winter can feel so long.
Our feet are crunching on the sidewalk an hour before dawn.
I am with you.
I am your crutch.
You feel like fire inside my arms.
Let's just wait here a moment
and I'm sure the words will come.
Another year I'm wishful.
Another year I'll wish for...
With chances scant to steal away,
and so little time for holidays,
I hope for tonight.
Your proclivity to smile
and your disposition shines for me.
I hope it stays bright.
Warm green eyes, we're face to face.
The decision made with guile and haste.
I hope it's alright.
And sometimes when the seasons change,
it makes my thoughts dissolve away.
Another year I'm wishful.
Another year I'll wish for...

I Can Feel
03:15
|
|||
I look around and feel the warmth
in the cold empty room
with elevator lounge tunes.
With voices and laughter,
but love is the loudest thing I hear.
I can feel everybody's love for you.
I can feel everybody's love for you.
I was flushed
when you asked me how I was doing,
I said, "I was just thinking of what it's like..."
I was just thinking of what it's like.
I can feel everybody's love for you.
I can feel everybody's love for you.
