Kindling 02:38
Numb to goodbyes How about this one? Is your voice stuck? Your terms are mine and decided in an instant Kindling burns at my edges Let me give you my last flame I know you'll make it through the winters Keep a stocking with my name on it Numb to goodbyes How about this one? Is my voice stuck? With one more try Was it choice or was it chosen? The duality of feeling like I wanted more time for you but not for us while giving almost everything I have Kindling burns at your edges Let me give you my last flame I know we'll make it through the winter
2.
Rode the sled like a radio flyer Ripped the leg of my snow pants When my cheeks get red can we go back in and get warm? Taking symbols at face value Only friends I've ever known are here These two streets: this is our whole world We've become euphemistic, reassembled parts of sums But is it too late to relinquish, reverse course, emerge reborn? It's our naivety scene! We fell asleep in the manger woke up feeling like more of ourselves Let's lay back out!
3.
Ornamental 02:24
Timorous white faintest of twine stretches through halls each silent night It's not your fault Forgiveness helps to set the tone, start up this hill The set's a mess the edges torn and half the pieces are off the board I'm burning dispassionate but empathy can impair you quick It's rare, son You win some You lost that one I want to stay positive but colloquy is inherited It's rare, son You win some You lost that one Ornamental feelings are ornamental We could do so much better My entropy A medley, falling Naivety and steadily, amelioration

about

After almost not being able to return to Chicago for the holidays for the second year in a row, I feel fortunate to have been able to make the trip. I spent two weeks writing, recording, and mixing at Brian's while seeing friends and catching up.

I wrote this year's EP as one long track split up into three, with a pop-punk twist from the old days. As usual, my writing careens towards reflections on the present, past, and future.
